2026 Luodong Night Market Food Guide | 15 Review-Backed Favourites, Prices, Queues and Map

No long history lesson: here are 15 local foods, checked 2026 prices, realistic queue ranges and a route that avoids walking the same streets twice.

Famous does not always mean worth a long wait. Weigh local character, price, queue efficiency and portion size before following any ranking blindly.

This guide was last checked on 27 July 2026 against Yilan County and Luodong tourism information, vendor notices, and Chinese and English reports from 2025–2026. Japanese travel coverage was used to cross-check the ordering and queue issues foreign visitors often face.

The list contains 12 savoury stops and three desserts. Ordering one item at every stop is best for three or four people and should cost roughly NT$1,150–1,650. For two people, the five-stop route at NT$450–700 is far more enjoyable.

For the strongest mix of local identity, consistent reports and route efficiency, start with A Tsao Ber, Yifeng and Luodong Red Bean Tangyuan. If A Tsao Ber exceeds 30 minutes, switch to Yang Pu Zi; if Chi Chiao Wei exceeds 25 minutes, Yubenpu is the smarter scallion option.

Food map and walking route

Start at the northwest entrance, loop around the park, then leave the core for dessert.

Begin with small dragon-phoenix rolls and yi chuan xin, then tackle scallion cakes and fried food. Put mutton soup late in the loop and dessert last to avoid filling up too early.

A long queue that may not pay off: Sanxing scallion pork skewers

A current 2026 Chinese source still records waits of up to two hours and uneven results that can be charred or dry. Cap your wait at 20–30 minutes; beyond that, choose Yubenpu or Da BBQ and protect the rest of the evening.

Hours, transport and parking

Rail is simplest; drivers should choose a car park before entering the one-way streets.

From Luodong Station's front exit, walk west along Gongzheng Road for about 10–15 minutes. Drivers can try the public multi-storey car park, then Gongzheng underground car park; always follow the posted rate.

Market-wide hours and vendor hours are different. Recheck the day's notice if one stall is the purpose of your trip.

01What time does Luodong Night Market start?

Official market hours are about 15:00–00:00, but many headline food stalls only assemble between 16:30 and 17:30. Around 17:00 is the best compromise.

02Is it open on weekdays and every day?

The market operates year-round, but vendors keep their own days off—for example, A Tsao Ber is commonly closed Wednesday, Yang Pu Zi Tuesday and Da BBQ Thursday.

03How do I walk from Luodong Station?

Leave from the front exit and follow Gongzheng Road toward Zhongshan Park for roughly 10–15 minutes. Store large luggage first if possible.

04How long should I allow?

Allow 1.5–2 hours for five foods, or 2–2.5 hours for a full loop with shops and photos.

05Is it good in the rain?

It remains possible, but the awnings do not connect and umbrellas are awkward in a crowd. Use a rain jacket in light rain and reconsider in a downpour.

06Can I pay by mobile wallet?

Some stalls may accept one, but never rely on it as your only payment. Bring roughly NT$1,000 in small notes and coins.

07Is a stroller practical?

Before 17:30, usually yes. From 18:30–20:30, turning and queueing becomes difficult; one adult can order while the other waits in a wider part of the park.

Make the market your final stop

Explore Dongshan River by day, rest, then return to Luodong for dinner.

When staying near Dongshan River, visit the water park or traditional arts centre first, return to your accommodation, and enter the market without day bags. The queues feel much easier that way.
